A mouth watering senior football championship semi-final is on the agenda in Tyrone after both Errigal Ciaran and St Macartan’s emerged from their respective quarter final ties over a bumper weekend of football action in the county. Killeeshill will face Clan na nGael in the other senior last four tie but the focus will be very much on the repeat of last years senior final. Unbeaten Macartan’s looked impressive as they accounted for Carrickmore while Errigal banged in five goals against Glenelly in the weekends final game.

Lycrcea Quinn scored 2-7 with Cailin McCann, Michaela Moore and Maria Canavan also firing in goals as Errigal eased past last years Ulster intermediate champions Glenelly , it finished 5-10 to 2-5. Carrickmore failed to score in 44 minutes of football after they had led St Macartans 1-4 to 0-2 in their quarter final.

The Macartans soon got into gear Joline Donnelly bagged 1-3 while youngster Chloe McCaffrey hit 1-4 from play as the Macs fitted the favourites billing with ease winning the contest 3-14 to 1-4, Colleen McQuaid with the other goal and Cathy Donnelly with four second half points.

Clann na nGael had three points to spare over a weakened Omagh, Maureen Dooher’s goal proving crucial in a 1-9 to 0-9 win and they now play Killeeshill who edged out Sperrin Og thanks to a good second half display. The St Mary’s won the contest 4-8 to 4-5 Chloe Collins, Shannon Stevenson, Lisa Marie Skeffington and county star Grainne Rafferty got the goals.

In the Intermediate quarter finals Dromore emerged with a one point win over Aghyaran, 3-8 to 3-7. Fr Rocks beat Trillick as Loughmacrory set up an intriguing semi-final clash with Ardboe after they beat a fancied Donaghmore.

Ardboe came back with a late Niamh Teague goal and pointed penalty from Hannah Lydon to seal a one point win over Strabane.

Coalisland meet Edendork in the first of the junior semi-finals on Saturday while Castlederg await the winners of the quarter final replay between Badoney and Fintona. That game ended 1-10 apiece.
