The Tyrone Ladies senior football squad have launched a new fundraising drive . Having already starred in their very own talent show in February this time the girls will (in the main at least) leave the action to some of Tyrone and Ulsters top GAA personalities this June. Tyrone’s ladies will host “The Red Hand Rumble” at Cookstowns Glenavon Hotel, the white collar boxing tournament penciled in for June 29th and some of the bill was unveiled this week. Among those stepping into the ring will be Tyrone coach and all Ireland winner Gavin Devlin who is hoping that coach Frank Gervin will find the perfect match up for him on fight night. Former Tyrone stars, John Lynch and Mickey McClure are also expected on the bill while Tyrone ladies captain Gemma Begley, one of the driving forces of the event, confirmed there will be a couple of all girl bouts.
Boxing expert Clonoe’s Frank Gervin will begin the training for the selected 24 boxers within the next week and the build up has already started with speculation rife as to just who is definitely on the bill on June 29th. Tickets will be released shortly and your supports would be greatly appreciated.
Speaking at the launch this week Begley said she hoped everyone will support the Red Hand Rumble ” Its a big fundraiser for us and I just hope we can really make some good money, so many people have offered their services and we really thank them for that, we have a couple of big names to confirm in the coming weeks, and I know everyone will be surprised as to just who will get the gloves on”
