Despite a gallant effort, Tyrone Ladies were narrowly defeated by an impressive Tipperary side who were able to keep their noses in front at the important stages of the game.
Tipperary got off to a brighter start before a Grainne Rafferty goal gave Tyrone a 1-1 to 0-3 lead, the only time Tyrone held the advantage over the hour. This was cancelled out within minutes by an Aisling McCarthy goal. Tyrone kept in contention until the break through Gemma Begley points but the went in 1-7 to 1-3 at the half.
Throughout the second half, any question Tyrone asked was answered by Tipperary and despite points from Emma Jane Gervin, Maria Canavan, Gemma Begley and Chloe McCaffrey, Tipperary remained composed to see out the victory.
