Tyrone were pushed all the way by a determined and skillful Cavan team and can count themselves lucky to have secured the win by a fine margin.
A solid first half performance saw tyrone lead by 4. They added to their lead with two quick points after half time but after that Cavan dominated for a 15 minute spell hitting two quick goals and a point to lead. An enthralling end to end game ensued with the teams level on several occasions. Tyrone were able to tag on a winner in the last minutes but deep into injury time Cavan saw the last kick of the game, which was a free, trail wide to Tyrones relief. New recruits Eunan Mc Anespie, Niall O’Neill, Ryan Mc Callion, Paul Mc Gorrey, Seamus Mc Elroy and Niall Corey bolstered Tyrones ranks in their first official ‘Masters’ contest.
