Tyrone over 40’s travelled to rain drenched St Anne’s GAA grounds in Dublin on Saturday to take on an undefeated Dublin team in their last section game of this years master’s competition. Played in atrocious conditions Tyrone came away with a great win to send them through to the All Ireland quarter-finals.
Facing into a gale force wind in the first half a goal from Mickey Cummings and points from Iggy Gallagher(2), Damien Gormley and Andy Mc Sorley sent the visitors in at half time trailing by a solitary point which was just reward for their efforts as they defended in numbers, held possession well and built from the back to engineer some well taken scores.
Tyrone came out for the second half with the wind on their backs and levelled matters with an early point from Conor Daly. Further points from Damien Gormley (2), Mickey Mc Cann and a converted Mickey Mc Conomy penalty saw Tyrone come out as deserved winners in what turned out to be highly competitive affair.
