Tyrone needed a big win to qualify, and got it tonight as they hammered a Donegal U-21 selection by 2-23 to 0-6. As soon as Ronan McHugh scored Tyrone’s first goal after 13 minutes, the writing was already on the wall for the young Donegal team.
By half-time Tyrone were already out of sight, leading by 1-12 to 0-3, and a second goal from Cahir McCullagh three minutes from time added an extra coat of gloss to the final score.
