Tyrone Schools’ Coach – Part Time Post
Term of Contract: Nov 2011 – July 2012
The post will involve coaching in the Schools in the Strabane District Council area three days per week commencing in November 2011.
The Primary School Coach will provide the leadership and direction required to maximize participation and maintain the highest playing standards in Gaelic games at school and underage levels in our Clubs and County. This will involve the implementation and delivery of the following core objectives:
Coaching and Games’ Development
- Implement the work programmes drawn up for Primary School Coaches based on a County plan for Coaching and Games Development
- Evaluate the outcomes of these programmes and propose change as necessary
- Assist the County Games Development Manager
- Liaise with the County Coaching and Games Development Committee
- Coaching in the Schools (Primary and Secondary)
- Assist in the organisation of half time mini games during the NFL and County final
- Assist as and when required at Cumann na mBunscol tournaments
- Implementation of U Can awards
- Organisation of primary/secondary school blitzes
- Develop and strengthen Club School links
Requirements
The successful candidate will have obtained the Level One Coaching Award and have a minimum of three years coaching experience at underage level over the past five years. A detailed knowledge of the Long Term Player Development Pathway is an essential requirement.
