Tyrone Senior Scór Dates & Venues

The Scór Sinsear season springs into action in the first weekend of February with the opening round being held in St Joseph’s College, Coalisland, beginning at 7.30 pm on Friday 2nd, specifically for the clubs in East Tyrone and the second preliminary round in St Eugene’s Hall, Newtownstewart on Sunday 4th February beginning at the earlier time of 3.30 pm, again specifically to accommodate the clubs from West Tyrone.

The semi-finals will take place the following weekend with the first one in Stewartstown Parish Hall on Friday 9th February beginning at 7.30 pm. The second semi-final will be held in Eskra Community Centre on Sunday, 11th February beginning at the 6.30 pm.

The County Finals are scheduled to be held in the Patrician Hall, Carrickmore on Sunday 25th February beginning at 3.00 pm. The Ulster Semi Finals for Tír Eoghain clubs is due to be held in Burtonport, Co Donegal on Saturday 10th March beginning at 5.00 pm while the other semi-final is to be held in St Brigid’s GAC, Belfast on Sunday 11th March also at 5.00 pm. The Ulster Final is fixed for Silverbridge, Co Armagh on Saturday 24th March at 5.00 pm.

This year’s All Ireland Final, like the Scór na nÓg Final is to be held in Sligo Institute of Technology on Saturday 14th April 2018 beginning at 3.00 pm.

The Scór na nÓg competitors in the clubs in Tír Eoghain have set a terrific target of participation from forty three of our clubs taking part in the competitions before Christmas which recently culminated with the Ulster Finals in Downpatrick on Saturday last, 13th January. Tyrone were represented at these finals by Omagh Ceili dancers, Edendork’s Annabel McAteer in recitation, Carrick more set dancers and Ceol Uirlise from Fintona. While the Fintona group emerged as Ulster champions the other three clubs acquitted themselves in the true spirit that all Tír Eoghain clubs do when they are at this stage of any competition. All of Tír Eoghain now get behind Fintona and wish them well in their quest for a further All Ireland title in Sligo I T Centre on Saturday 17th February 2018 beginning at 3.00 pm.

The adults in our clubs now have a target to reach so that Tír Eoghain can continue to make a major contribution to the promotion and development of our national culture and heritage and in doing so continue to maintain Tyrone’s position as one its major contributors. Tyrone continues to be the leaders in the national roll of honour of National Titles at Scór disciplines.

We would therefore encourage all of the adults in our clubs to step up and continue the high standards set by the clubs of Tír Eoghain.
