“ Paul Devlin back at the helm at Tyrone U.20 Manager”
Tyrone County PRO speaking following the recent Tyrone County Management Committee meeting stated that the Committee have fully ratified the appointment of Paul Devlin as Tír Eoghain U-20 football manager for a further three-year term. Paul has been manager from 2018 up until 2020.
Paul once again is keen to continue the process of developing footballers in the quest for Sam. He has played for the “Red Hands” along with both Feargal and Brian and is looking forward to renewing friendships and being able to work alongside both the Senior Managers.
Paul commented, following his re-appointment for a second term “I am blessed to have the support from home and within our team, from players to the entire backroom group. I am very lucky to have had a special team of individuals supporting me and helping me out in their variety of roles.
Continuing Paul stated, “My main goal is the honest development of players as individuals and as players for Club and County”. If silverware comes along the way that will be good too and a bonus to us all.
In the previous three years under Paul’s guidance Tyrone won a Philly McGuinness Cup and two Ulster U.20 Championships. Earlier this year Paul was named Eirgrid Ulster U.20 Manager of the Year for a second year in a row.
Paul during his own playing career he was Vice-captain of Moortown who won the Senior County Title as well as winning 2 U.21 County Medals as a player. Paul also won 2 Ulster Senior Championship Medals with Tyrone in 1995 & 1996 losing out in 1994 to Down in the Ulster Final, the year he returned to County Colours after a bad leg break. Tyrone Paul lined out for Tyrone in the 1995 All Ireland Final losing to Dublin.
