The new U12 Football and Hurling Go Games League has commenced in Tyrone. This league has been organised by both the Coaching and Games Committee and the Hurling Development Committee in an attempt to alleviate fixture congestion at this age group and to provide a more meaningful games programme for all our players. It is hoped that this joint approach to fixture planning will give every child in the county the opportunity to play both our national games without fear of clashes. To ensure this league’s smooth running, clubs are asked to consider Monday nights as ‘Games Night’ for both codes and so just as there should be no U12 hurling training on a Monday night, there should be no U12 football training arranged by our clubs either. If Monday nights are reserved for games only, then all our children can play both codes and enjoy playing our games in an extended, enjoyable games programme.
