Tyrone poised for success at Ulster juvenile finals…
Tyrone will have a very strong representation in the packed Ulster juvenile finals programme which will be staged in Kingscourt this Saturday, 10th March, commencing at 10.30am.
The county, which will have boys and girls from five different clubs striving for glory, will be involved in a massive 18 provincial finals out of a possible 24, and the players involved will all have high hopes of victory.
Cormac Munroe, Turlough Clarke, Sean Kerr and Niall Allison will all be confident of winning singles titles in the boys division, while Michaela McCartan, Elizabeth McGarvey, Eilise McCrory and Zara Girvan will be trying to gain success in four of the girls singles finals.
In the doubles finals, Tyrone’s hopes will rest on Antoin Fox and Ronan Curran in the under-12 grade, Ciaran Cuddy and Tiernan McAleer at under-13, Matthew McCartan and Shane McCrystall at under-14, Pauric Mullan and Jack Campbell in the under-15 category, Johnny Woods and Ryan Mullan at under-16, and Matthew McSorley and Luke Kelly in the under-17 section.
In the girls’ doubles finals, Tyrone will be looking to Ciara Mullan and Emer Kerr in the under-12 grade, Patricia McDonald and Lucy McGeary at under-15, Maeve McElduff and Aoife Kelly at under-16 and Michaela McGuigan and Michaela Mc Namee in the under-17 final.
Tyrone’s challenge for Ulster and All-Ireland honours this year will be led by the likes of Sean Kerr in the under-14 singles championship, Johnny Woods and Ryan Mullan in the under-16 doubles competition, and the girls under-16 doubles pairing of Maeve McElduff and Aoife Kelly.
