The Sigerson Cup made a welcome appearance at the launch of the 2017 Campa Chormaic at An Carn Tóchair, Co Derry, along with winning manager Paddy Tally and members of the winning team.
Now in its 13th year, Campa Chormaic is the Irish language, cultural and sporting summer camp set up in memory of Cormac McAnallen, who died of a rare heart condition in 2004.
“We are delighted to have Paddy Tally and playing representatives of the St Mary’s Sigerson Cup team, to open this years camps,” said Martin Gormley Campa Chormaic Chairperson.
“Cormac himself had great success in college football, playing on the 1999 Ryan Cup winning team with Queen’s University and lifting the Sigerson Cup the following year.”
Campa Chormaic is held in Co Tyrone (Brantry BARD and St Joseph’s Donaghmore), Co Antrim (Belfast), Co Derry (An Abhainn Bheag and Baile na Scríne) and Co Down (St Colman’s Newry)
