Tyrone GAA Youth Officer Eugene McConnell reviews last weekends action…
On Saturday past the U.14 League Finals were all down for decision. Charraig Mhór and Fintona played host to the Double Bills.
I wish to firstly thank both Fintona and Charraig Mhór for facilitating the Finals and for their tremendous efforts on the Day. The grounds were in splendid condition and everything was laid on which helped to add to the occasion.
In all four games there were some fine exhibitions of Gaelic football and it’s a credit to all Clubs for the way they prepared their teams. Sadly on the day there has to be losers, but on Saturday the real winner a was Gealic Football.
Congratulations to Galbally who collected the second part of their Treble by collecting the Gr.1 title, while in Gr.2 Pomeroy prevented Greencastle from a Double success winning out in a high scoring encounter.
In Gr. 3. Owen Roes made up for the disappointment of their Championship defeat to capture the League title over a determined Glenelly side.
In Gr.4, Clogher pushed Urney all the way losing out by only 2 pts having missed two penalties.
Urney collected the double with Johna Lafferty grabbing a personal tally of 4 gls and 6 pts
