Four of the largest Credit Unions in the county – Dungannon, Coalisland, Cookstown and Omagh – have come together under the umbrella of Tyrone Credit Unions, in a collaboration which highlights the shared commitment to fostering community development and building connections.
Like Club Tyrone, the Credit Union movement was founded by forward thinking volunteers, committed to serve and build a better future for the generations to come. Speaking at the launch, Lisa McCloskey, Manager of Dungannon Credit Union said, “We are so much more that a financial institution and supporting local is important to us. Our participation in this event allows the Credit Unions to reinforce our dedication to the communities we serve at a grass roots level, and to promote sports in our region ensuring that local talent is nurtured and given the opportunity to flourish.”
Martin Haughey, Chairperson of Club Tyrone added, “This exciting partnership brings together two organisations rooted in community values and who both play pivotal roles in the social and cultural fabric of the county. We’re excited by the opportunities which lie ahead and are looking forward to a fantastic event early next month.”
Golfers from across the county and beyond will take to the fairways and greens of the prestigious Belvoir Park Golf Club in south Belfast on Thursday 3rd July to test themselves on one of the top courses in the country.
The day will provide an ideal mix of competition and camaraderie, with teams of four competing for a host of great prizes including longest drive, nearest the pin, and overall team awards. The event will conclude with a post-round meal and prize presentation.
There are a limited number of tee times still available, contact club.tyrone@gaa.ie for more information.
