Gaelic Tyrone is now a darker, sadder, and lesser place following the death of Joan Harte, mother of our County Senior Football Captain, leader, inspiration, and serial achiever, Peter Harte.
Central to one of our most pivotal Tyrone Gaelic families, Joan was a long-term, constant presence within the life of Gaelic Tyrone. Always, smiling, always gentle, she was simply, a delight for us all. Níl sa bhás ach malairt beatha | Death is but a change of life.
Our deepest sympathy goes to Barney, to Emma, Grace and Peter, to Joan’s wider family circle, to her so many friends, colleagues and neighbours, to the countless people she influenced in life, and to the Gaels of Errigal.
