An audacious goal from Tiarnan Campbell proved crucial as Omagh dethroned holders Killyclogher to become Connollys of Moy Tyrone Senior Reserve Champions 2025 with a 2-17 to 1-14 victory at Loughmacrory.
Oran Toal’s goal early in the second half had put Killyclogher ahead, but Campbell’s exquisite chip over Tiernan McNamee put Omagh in the box seat and they pushed on to a six point win.
The St Enda’s got off to the dream start Adam Groogan firing over two two pointers with Antain McGinn also with a double within four minutes. Toal and Cormac McGettigan carved out scores for the St Marys as Omagh failed to score for 15 minutes after the impressive Tom Donaghy pointed.
Despite the best efforts of Killclogher’s Nathan O’Neill and Mattie Howe who kept their side in the game Omagh led by three at the break with Donaghy and Ben Groogan both on target. Crucially the St Mary’s had Lochlin Meenan red carded just shy of the half time whistle.
Tiernan Cox tagged on a Killyclogher point before Toal’s piledriver had them ahead for the first time. Points from Niall McCrory and Groogan nudged Omagh ahead again but St Mary’s came back and the sides were level for a third time at the turn of the third quarter.
A stunning double save from Omagh goalkeeper McCrory was a massive moment in the contest before Campbell deftly chipped McNamee and St Enda’s were not to be overhauled.
Ciaran McArdle came off the bench and added three points ably supported by Dan Haigney before in the closing minutes Haigney finished with skill to the Killyclogher net to help his side to a six point win.
