It was very difficult to count them all, but upwards of 400 Tyrone gaels turned up at the Annual Club Tyrone Members’ Night on 7 June past. Unlike the previous two years, this year we were met with lashing rain but it seemed to have no impact at all on the enthusiasm of those attending. The centre-piece of the night was a guided tour of the Garvaghey Centre building: twelve months ago the foundations hadn’t been dug but now the 30,000 sq ft £2.7m building is just a couple of months short of completion. In Tyrone we believe our Garvaghey building, and indeed our whole Garvaghey Centre, are unique and we’re proud to be putting them in place as part of our GAA legacy to those who come after us.
