Scór na nÓg is upon us again

The time has come again to begin preparations for Scór na nÓg in the clubs in Tír Eoghain.

Is am Scór na nÓg é arís agus am do na clubanna i dTír Eoghain ullmhúchán a dhéanamh fána choinne. Tá an fhéilire scór ag pilleadh chuig an sean-fhormáid de ghníomhachtaí geimhridh don aos óg. Bígí linn i bhforbairt na ngnéithe móra tábhachtacha den chultúr s’againn; damhsa, ceol, amhránaíocht agus scéalaíocht.

The Scór calendar will return this autumn with the younger section of our membership set to continue the preservation and promotion of our proud national heritage of dance, music, singing and story-telling.

It is anticipated that these will take place in early October and conclude with the County Final again in early November, with dates set to be announced in the coming weeks.

Following the Tyrone elements, we will proceed to Ulster Semi Final and then to the Ulster Final on dates  which as yet  are not known to us, We have been advised that the All Ireland Finals will be held in the INEC Centre in Killarney in January 2026.

We would encourage the Culture and Language officers  to begin to gather together competitors so they can fine tune their efforts in preparation for participating in official competitions in around eight weeks time.

This should also give clubs the opportunity to ensure their competitors are properly registered with their clubs and acquaint themselves with the various rules and regulations governing participation in Scór Competition. These rules are available on the GAA website.

If any of our clubs requires any further information please do not hesitate to get in touch with any member of the Culture and Language committee.
