SCÓR SINSEAR 2017
Following two weekends of first rounds and then semi-finals the make-up of this year’s County Final is complete.
The opening night was held in Newtownstewart on Friday 3rd February and the second first round was held in Cookstown. Both nights proved to be successful with the main aim for most competitors being to get all ‘ring ready’ for encounters in the semi-finals. These were held in Aughabrack on Friday 17th February with the second night being held in St Mary’s Hall in Stewartstown.
The semi-finals nights showed that a significant amount of work had been done following the first round warm ups. Groups and individuals were much sharper than the first rounds. This will auger well for the County Finals which are due to be held in Dún Uladh Centre in Killyclogher on Sunday 5th March at 5.00 pm.
This will be followed quickly by two Ulster Finals on Saturday and Sunday, 11th and 12th March, both startin at 5.00 pm. The Saturday event will be held in Silverbridge with Derry, Donegal, Fermanagh and Armagh vieing for places in this year’s Ulster Finals being held in Seán McDermotts Club in Monaghan on Saturday 8th April. Tyrone will be involved in this semi-finals in the role of an adjudicating county. Then on Sunday, 12th March, in The Patrician Hall in Carrickmore it will be Tyrone’s chance to compete against clubs from counties, Down, Donegal, Monaghan and Cavan again to seek a place in the Ulster Finals.
The All Ireland Finals will follow the venue for the Scór na nÓg finals which were held in the Waterfron Hall in Belfast on Saturday 6th May beginning at 3.00 pm. The Scór Finals will be preceded by the finals of Tráth na gCeist, also in the same venue but beginning at the earlier time of 11.00 am.
