Coiste Contae Thir Eoghain confirm that County Under 21 Football Manager Raymond Monroe and Senior Hurling manager Tom Magill will not be seeking further terms with their respective teams.
Cathaoirleach Ciaran McLaughlin extended the thanks of the County Committee to both men on the successes they achieved throughout their tenures as Tyrone Managers and paid tribute to their contributions.
“Since taking over the County Minor team in 2006, and subsequently the Under 21 team in 2011, Raymond and his assistant Cathal McAnenly have enjoyed tremendous success in delivering 2 All Ireland Minor titles in 2008 and 2010, 3 Ulster Minor Championships in 2007, 2008 and 2010 and reaching 2 Ulster Under 21 finals in 2011 and 2012. Raymond put a massive effort into bringing success to Tyrone Football and will undoubtedly be a major loss to coaching within the county.”
“Tom Magill took over the Senior Hurling team in 2011, and immediately brought about a renewed determination within our senior Hurlers. He oversaw a Lory Meagher Cup success 2012 and demonstrated how Hurling in Tyrone can move forward into the future. The performance of the team in this year’s Nicky Rackard Cup and the recent victory in the Ulster U21 Hurling Shield illustrate the influence Tom has had.”
The process of seeking nominations to both posts will commence later in the summer.
