A delegation of Strabane District Councillors and officers were welcome visitors to Garvaghey on Thursday 5 July 2012. They brought with them something that gladdened the hearts of all Tyrone gaels – a cheque for £50,000. The Strabane contribution will go towards the 3G drills area that is part of the Garvaghey master-plan and on which work will shortly start. The Strabane team was taken on a tour of the site and, we’re confident, left very satisfied that their money was being put to good use. We in turn are delighted to acknowledge the Council’s support: it is something that’s fully appreciated. All four Tyrone Councils now ‘have their fingerprints on Garvaghey’. Local government is a very important part of the fabric of Tyrone and we’re honoured to have it as our partner in Garvaghey.
