Scór Sinsear 2018
The Scór Sinsear County Finals took place in the Patrician Hall, Carrickmore on Sunday 25th Feb 2018.
The audience was treated to a wide and varied display of excellent talent from the sixteen clubs which took part in the finals. Credit must go the adults from our clubs who made genuine efforts to display the depth of talent which exists from dance to singing to Ballad Groups to story- telling and some excellent historical drama as displayed by the Derrytresk club. We heard a range of traditional Irish songs in a competition which had no less than three former county champions among the six contestants challenging for the County title.  We were also reminded about the ‘Pope’s visit to Ireland and other well-loved Irish verses.
Our knowledge on some of the facts and details about our Geography, History, Culture and GAA affairs were well and truly tested.
Newly elected, County Chairman, Michael Kerr, was on hand to present the various county champions with their medals.
Sincere gratitude is extended to the clubs who hosted rounds of Scór Sinsear this year, Brackaville, Newtownstewart, Eskra and Carrickmore. A special word of thanks and congratulations is due to all the competitors from the twenty three cubs in the county who took part in the first round in January. Clubs are asked to remember that there is a target to have many more clubs taking part in competitions set for 2020, which is the Golden Jubilee of the foundation of the Scór ideal.
All efforts now turn to preparing for the Ulster Semi Finals to be held in Burtonport, in West Donegal on Saturday 10th March at 5.00 pm in expectation of qualifying for the Ulster Finals which will be held in Silverbridge, Co Armagh on Saturday 24th March. The ultimate prize of an All Ireland title awaits the successful Ulster champions. The All Ireland finals of Scór Sinsear, like the Scór na nÓg finals recently, will be held in Sligo I T on 14th April.
The County champions for 2018 were as follows
