All eyes turn to Clones tomorrow afternoon as Tyrone prepare to take on Armagh in the Ulster Senior Football Championship semi-final. With a place in the provincial decider on the line, Malachy O’Rourke has named his matchday 26 for what promises to be a thrilling contest against the Orchard County.
The starting fifteen shows a strong blend of youth and experience. Niall Morgan once again takes the number one jersey, with Peter Teague named at full-back. Aidan Clarke and Niall Devlin complete a tight-marking full-back line, while the half-back trio of McKernan, Brennan, and McGeary offer drive and defensive solidity.
In midfield, Brian Kennedy and Conn Kilpatrick resume their ever-reliable partnership. There’s plenty of energy and craft in the half-forward line, with Aodhan Donaghy lining out alongside the experienced Mattie Donnelly and Ciarán Daly. Up front, McCurry, Harte, and Canavan will be looked to for scores, with all three capable of lighting up the big stage.
The bench includes seasoned campaigners like Padraig Hampsey and Frank Burns, along with exciting attacking options in Ruairi Canavan, Mark Bradley and Seanie O’Donnell. With strength throughout the 26, Tyrone will be keen to make their mark and push for a place in another Ulster final.
Throw-in is at 4.45pm in St Tiernach’s Park. Let’s turn Clones red and white — and roar the team over the line.
