Tyrones Under 21 hurlers exited the Ulster U-21 Sheild competition on Wednesday night. Donegal coming out on top in a dogged semi-final at Healy Park 2-20 to 1-16. It proved to be an exciting affair between two very useful sides but Tyrone trailed from the start. Seami O’Hagan and Shea McKiver kept Tyrone in touch with points while Chris Meenagh found the net. Goalkeeper Nicky McBride pulled off several big saves in the first half and Donegal led by just three points at the break.
A succession of early second half wides by Tyrone followed by a killer second Donegal gave the visitors the edge again and they pushed on for the win. Tyrone though had several chances to pull back into the tie but it was not to be. A spirited Tyrone display all round.
