Tyrone Under 20s capped off a remarkable season claiming the Dalata Hotel Group All Ireland U20 title against Leinster champions Louth in the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds on Wednesday evening.
Two first half goals from Noah Grimes and second half strikes from Eoin McElholm (2) and Shea McDermott helped the young Red Hands to a 5-16 to 0-17 victory, marking a third title at this grade in four years for Tyrone and for manager Paul Devlin.
The first half was nip and tuck but a second goal from man of the match Grimes late in the first half helped Tyrone into a 2-7 to 0-8 half time lead.
Further points from McElholm and Grimes extended the lead early in the second half but Louth fought back reducing the gap to two points and could have had a goal but for a goal line clearance from Tyrone captain Joey Clarke.
Two goals from Eoin McElholm then swung the game decisively in the Red Hands favour before Shea McDermott added 1-1 in the final minutes to put the game beyond doubt.
Joey Clarke then climbed the steps of the stand to accept the Clarke Cup from Ulster GAA President Michael Geoghegan.
